Another version of a reality show?

Real Housewives, Mythbusters, The Bachelor, The Biggest Loser, Jersey Shore examples of reality tv shows. People of Panem, country of The Hunger Games, also watch lots of reality television, except there’s only one show they watch it’s called the Hunger Games. The show is about a group of teenagers who kill each other in a fight to the death.

The Hunger Games makes us think about all of the different versions of reality in this novel and the consequences. What’s real and what’s not real in the Hunger Games?

  1. Good job Monica! I see you are progressing deep into this book. I feel this book has shown us the reality of how power corrupts. No matter how much the districts suffer, the Capitol will always strike them down, and make them watch as their young fight to the death for the sake of the district. Yet I also feel this book says a little bit about the sickness of man. How we are able to find entertainment of even the worst things such as another living beings pain. The book has shown somewhere real concepts, which have been done our dark history. However the idea of no successful revolt seems unlikely to me. I feel in these types of Scenarios all of the Districts would unite and regain their freedom.
