Hunger Games

The Hunger Games is a novel written by Suzanne Collins. It is the first book of the Hunger Games trilogy. It introduces sixteen-year-old Katniss Everdeen, who lives in a post-apocalyptic world in the country of Panem where North America once stood. This is where a powerful government working in a central city called the Capitol holds power. In the book, the Hunger Games are an annual televised event where the Capitol chooses one boy and one girl from each district to fight to the death.

Peeta and Katniss

During the interview with Ceesar before the Hunger Game, Peeta confesses that his lover is Katniss. Peeta explains to Katniss that its is only part of "strategy". Do you really think Peeta's act was part of "show" and "stratedgy"? or Do you think Peeta really loves Katniss?

I think Peeta really loves Katniss but he has to make something up so Katniss can go along and fall for it. It can also be a show and strategy too. You get more popularity by being a couple on the show and the viewers will support you through out. Katniss is a girl who doesn't get attached to guys, Peeta knows that and he would probably then lie to have it for his benefit.

Monica I agree with your thoughts. I feel that Peeta does honestly love her. However I feel that eventually Katniss might fall in love with Peeta as well. The end result will lead into a riot as the two tributes refuse to kill one another the finals of the games. When the capitol enforces the rules, the districts will rise against, and start the second war between Districts and Capitol. This is merely a hypothesis because I know there are 2 more sequels to this book.
